National Urban Special Education Leadership Initiative (NUESLI) Symposium

September 25-26, 2015

The National Urban Special Education Leadership Initiative (NUSELI) held their first National Urban Special Education Leadership Initiative Symposium on September 25-26, 2015 to Celebrating a Decade of Urban Special Education Leadership Preparation. This event was a great opportunity for our community to learn about the dissertation research produced by the NUSELI Program scholars as well as hear some phenomenal national speakers discuss the needs of urban special education. Attendees learned how our scholar's research has made an impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families in public schools throughout the state of Florida.

Celebrating a Decade of Urban Special Education Leader Preparation
The purpose of the NUSELI Symposium was to:

  • Share the findings of over 15 impactful research studies of NUSELI Scholars
  • Hear the National Faculty and Advisory Board Members speak on the current issues facing special education
  • Provide a forum for community leaders, teachers, and other stakeholders to be a part of a culminating event that celebrated the Urban Special Education Leaders who serve students with disabilities and their families.
